Your kit should feel like an extension of the way you play: responsive under the hands, alive under the sticks, and ready to follow wherever the song leads.

The Orybon Highland Series Walnut Poplar is built for players chasing a warmer, more grounded drum sound: rich, settled, responsive, and deeply musical.

Like a master blended wine, its walnut poplar shell recipe brings together earthy low end, softened attack, and a living resonance that feels balanced before you even start working for it.

This is the kit for drummers who want a sound that does not fight the song; it finds its place, opens up, and breathes with the track.

Signature Orybon Features

Every Highland Series Walnut Poplar kit includes the core innovations that define the Orybon sound.

DualEdge™ Edging System
Our proprietary bearing edge system uses purpose-engineered profiles for the batter and resonant heads, giving each side of the drum a specific job and a more intentional response.

Machined Aircraft Aluminum Hardware Powered by Trick
Lightweight, durable, precision machined hardware built for strength, stability, and performance. Machined by the legendary team at Trick.

PressureSync™ Porting System
Our equidistant and shell size dependent porting system is designed to equalize pressure inside the drum cavity, allowing the shell to breathe and respond naturally.

FocusPoint™ Shell Architecture
Our exclusive top-only reinforcement ring focuses the batter side of the shell for a brighter, more articulate attack while leaving the resonant side open, resonant, and responsive.

NeoTune™ Tension Rods
Machined in the USA, our proprietary NeoTune™ tension rods deliver a smoother, more controlled tuning experience.

Choose Your Depth Profile

Every Highland Series Walnut Poplar kit is available in two shell depth profiles: Orybon Original and Golden Ratio.

Orybon Original

Masterful taste from the master builder.

Orybon Original depth spec is the culmination of a lifetime spent by Ory Brochet building, innovating, refining, and playing drums. These depths are in familiar territory, yet moved with master level intentionality: subtle shifts in proportion designed to improve feel, response, balance, and musicality.

Like a masterfully architected building, nothing here is accidental. Each depth is chosen for how the drum speaks under the hands, how it opens in the room, and how the full kit works together as one instrument, both sonically and visually.

Choose Orybon Original if you want the comfort of familiar sizing shaped by a master builder’s ear, a refined sense of taste, and decades of hard won drum making instinct.

Golden Ratio

Drums built with the laws of nature.

Inspired by what Renaissance masters called the Divine Proportion, our Golden Ratio shell depth spec uses proportion-based sizing to create a kit that feels unified from drum to drum, both visually and sonically.

The result is a composed, record-ready voice: balanced attack, controlled bloom, clean decay, and toms that feel like they belong to the same musical sentence. Visually, the kit carries a natural elegance; familiar enough to feel timeless, different enough to stop you in your tracks.

Choose Golden Ratio if you want a Highland Series Walnut Poplar kit with a refined studio voice, a strong visual identity, and the sense that every drum was designed as part of one complete instrument.

Heads

All drum kits ship stock with Orybon branded Remo heads. We have selected our favorites, not simply the cheapest available!

Toms are equipped with coated vintage emperors on top with clear ambassadors on the bottom. Kicks ship with coated PowerStroke3 batter heads and P3 Felt Tone Fiberskyn Diplomat bass resonant heads. Snares are outfitted with Remo Controlled Sound Black Dot coated batter heads and clear snare side drum heads.

Finish

All Highland Walnut Poplar kits are available in natural Orybon UltraDeep™ matte oil finish with either brushed aluminum or matte black hardware.

***Note - the kit in the product photos has a Legend Series badge. All Highland Series kits get the Orybon Highland badge pictured on the walnut shell in the product photos.***
